Secondary School Headteacher's PA/HR Lead Based in Winson Green, Birmingham Maternity Cover£17-£18ph Your new companyA Secondary School based in North Birmingham is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and dynamic individual to join their Academy as the PA to the Headteacher covering a maternity leave. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the Headteacher. The role will is to start ASAP and is Monday to Friday, 8.00 am - 4pm, term time only. Your new roleYou will be providing full administration support to the Head Teacher of the school. This will include diary management, minute taking and typing letters as well as supporting with HR duties. The role will entail:

  • To provide an efficient and confidential administrative/secretarial service to the Headteacher, including drafting outgoing correspondence, papers, and school documents as directed.
  • To attend meetings as and when required, prepare agendas, papers, and supporting documentation as well as take minutes and follow up action points where necessary.
  • To maintain the Headteacher's diary, arrange appointments, prioritise meetings as appropriate, and ensure the Headteacher is adequately briefed.
  • To make travel arrangements for the Headteacher.
  • To manage verbal and written communications on behalf of, and in conjunction with, the Headteacher, ensuring the highest quality presentation of documents.
  • To act as the first point of contact within the school for staff, parents and others seeking contact with the Headteacher.
  • To maintain health and safety records, undertake risk assessments for school visits and support the site management team in preparing documentation for health and safety audits.
  • To manage and check the recruitment process in line with Trust policy including undertaking relevant checks and maintaining the Single Central Record.
  • To monitor sickness levels of staff and take appropriate action.
  • To participate in the induction of new staff, ensuring mandatory training is complete.

What you'll need to succeedYou will need to have worked as PA, preferably within an education setting or similar and have recent satisfactory references carrying out this role. You will also have a current enhanced DBS in order to start the placement immediately.
