Here at Katie Bard, we are currently searching for a Heath, Safety and Environment Manager to join a well-respected and modern law firm based in either Birmingham, Manchester or Exeter.

This role is hybrid, full time, permanent and offering up to 65k a year dependant on experience.

This is a very much a hands-on role, so it is looking for someone who will get involved rather than managed.

These roles responsibilities include:

  • Being the first point of contact for health and safety across the three offices so there will be travel involved in this role
  • Day to day management of different budgets, attending budget meetings and presenting new budget requests and cost risks
  • Ensure audits are carried out in detail and action plans have been completed in a timely manner
  • Head up the development of Heath and Safety and security training across the business and ensure employees understand
  • Ensure emergency procedures are adhered towards
  • Lead on environment and safety initiatives such as pollution control and waste management
  • Ensure Health and Safety handbooks are managed and maintained
  • Collaborating with the Head of Facilities and Risk and security related contracts through tendering process.

For this role, it is essential to have NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, be a chartered member of IOSH and knowledge of ISO45001 alongside DSE advanced assessor and ACOP L8 Legionella Responsible Person.

It would also be essential to have professional services experience working as a health and safety manager or equivalent. This role is looking for someone who has excellent relationship management, communication skills, a problem solver and keen attention to detail.
