We are working with a global professional services organisation who have achieved 'Platinum Standard Investors in People' and are recruiting for a part time Health and Safety Manager to work 3 days per week (21 hours) at their Birmingham office. We are looking for candidates with experience in Health and Safety Management within a professional services environment.  It is essential you have NVQ Level 5 in Health and Safety or equivalent. As Health and Safety Manager, you would be responsible for all Health and Safety aspects within the business, developing, maintaining, monitoring, and coordinating Health and Safety policies, procedures, and training across all divisions.This role is paying £37,000 (salary will be pro rata). Main responsibilities
  • Review and implement health and safety policies in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices, ensuring these are always adhered to.
  • Conduct site inspections, perform risk assessments, and regularly review sites to identify potential hazards
  • Organise and facilitate safety training programmes for employees, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide training and development plan for the supporting health and safety officer role within the team.
  • Stay updated with all relevant health, safety, and environment regulations.
  • Support local team on incident, accident and near miss reporting. Ensure that findings are clearly documented, identify root cause, and implement corrective measures. 
  • Conduct DSE Office workspace assessments and follow up with any actions required.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities including incidents, training records, safety inspections.
  • Assist with responding to client tenders, prepare accident reports, upload information to various client and membership association compliance portals.
  • Liaise with External Health and Safety Consultants.
      Essential Qualifications and Experience to be considered for the role of Health and Safety Manager:
  • Experience in managing health and safety in a professional services environment.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety law and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and written in report format or investigation format.
  • Experience in conducting investigations into accident / incidents and developing and implementing corrective and preventative actions is essential.
 Professional Qualifications required to be considered for the role of Health and Safety Manager:
  • NEBOSH Certificate essential, NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 H&S equivalent preferred.
  • Grad / Certified IOSH status essential.
  • ISO Standard Internal Auditor trained.
