Reed Further Education are working with a further education college who are searching for an Art Lecturer to deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Extended Diploma courses accredited by the University of Arts London. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with neuro divergent students aged 16-24, all of whom have educational health care plans.

Job Title: Art Lecturer

Position: Tues – Fri, 9am to 3pm (could be 3 days for the right candidate)

Role type: Temporary until Easter with potential to be extend to end of academic year.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £26p/h to £33p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions in Art to students at Level 2 and Level 3.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of neuro divergent students.
  • Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Assess and record students' progress, providing feedback and support to encourage and motivate learners.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and uphold the standards of the University of Arts London.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff and contribute to the development of the curriculum.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a relevant Teaching Qualification.
  • Experience in teaching Art at similar levels, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Art or relevant qualification level 3 and above.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate neuro divergent learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.
