Role Requirements:

  • Teaching Expertise: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and creative Art lessons for students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3 & KS4), adapting projects and techniques to meet diverse learning needs and artistic abilities.
  • Curriculum Development: Work with the Art department to develop and enhance curriculum resources, incorporating a wide range of artistic techniques, materials, and art history to inspire and educate students.
  • Student Support: Provide individualised feedback and encouragement to help students explore their creativity, refine their skills, and build confidence in their artistic abilities.
  • Assessment and Progress Tracking: Use varied assessment methods to monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and adapt lesson plans as needed.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel free to experiment, express themselves, and respect each other's creativity.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date with new techniques, art movements, and best practices in art education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • QTS Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong foundation in Art and Design, with proficiency in different artistic mediums, styles, and techniques.
  • DBS Certificate: Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate or be willing to undergo a DBS check.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students, fostering a love of art.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage projects, maintain materials, and assess work in a timely manner.
