SEND HLTA | Birmingham, B6 | £105 - £115 per day | ASAP

Our partner primary school, located in Aston (B6), is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their inclusive team. This role is based in a special educational needs (SEND) resource base, leading a group of 12 students outside the mainstream classroom. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with complex needs, while also providing essential support to teachers.



Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the classroom, adapting and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students, focusing on their individual learning and development goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement strategies that promote inclusivity and encourage progress in students with varying abilities.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute to intervention planning, and work alongside other professionals to enhance the overall educational experience for students.


Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs in a resource base setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Proven experience in using behaviour management techniques.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently in leading the classroom.
