Flourish Education are recruiting for a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to support within a ‘Good’ Primary School in Longbridge. This school is a 2-form entry Primary school who value better schools and providing better life chances.

Our client is seeking a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 child, this role would be to support this child, who has challenging behaviour, throws tantrums and can be violent. This child only attends school for 1 hour a day, for this time their parents stay with them, for the rest of the day the school require classroom support across year 5/6. The ideal candidate would be a very strong Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour.

This position would be a full-time, long-term position, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year.

The responsibilities of this Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Assist teachers in delivering the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • Support children in group and one-on-one settings, promoting their educational and personal development.
  • Prepare classroom materials and manage classroom behaviour.
  • Work closely with other members of the team to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback.
  • Promote the school’s ethos and values, ensuring a safe and happy environment for all.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a Primary School, specifically within KS2.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and how to support children in achieving their learning goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.

Working as a KS2 Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you other excellent benefits, including:
