You Must Have
- 1-2 years' experience working with children with SEND
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Knowledge of special educational needs and relevant support strategies
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the confidence to report concerns
- A passion for supporting children with SEND, helping them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining attentiveness and staying alert to the individual needs and well-being of students
- Supporting and assisting children with special educational needs in the classroom and throughout daily routines
- Engaging in classroom activities, including observations, record-keeping, and contributing to lesson planning
- Providing one-on-one or small group support as required
- Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
- Occasionally assisting with opening and closing duties
