You Must Have

  • 1-2 years' experience working with children with SEND
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and relevant support strategies
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the confidence to report concerns
  • A passion for supporting children with SEND, helping them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining attentiveness and staying alert to the individual needs and well-being of students
  • Supporting and assisting children with special educational needs in the classroom and throughout daily routines
  • Engaging in classroom activities, including observations, record-keeping, and contributing to lesson planning
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support as required
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Occasionally assisting with opening and closing duties
