As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with SEND on a 1-1 or small group basis across Early Years (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Helping students with Autism, ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and other SEND needs achieve their potential.
  • Assisting the Class Teacher with tailored lesson plans for students with SEND.
  • Encouraging positive behaviours and providing emotional support for children with diverse needs.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
  • Supporting the development of speech, language, and social skills for children with SEND.

Required Skills and Experience

  • If you have experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Alternative Provision (AP), SEND/SEN Hub, or Special Schools, we'd love to hear from you!
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in education or childcare.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a UK school, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other SEND needs.
  • An understanding of various educational settings, including PRUs, APs, SEND hubs, and Special Schools.
  • Familiarity with supporting pupils with complex needs, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour.
  • A caring and patient approach, with a passion for fostering inclusive education.

Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you other excellent benefits, including:
