SEN Teaching Assistant - EYFS/KS1 SEN TA (Resource Base)

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, Term Time Only
Hours: 8:30am - 3:45pm
Long Term Futures are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant in a mainstream primary school located in B9, Bordesley Green. The successful candidate will support EYFS and KS1 resource base students with complex needs, making a meaningful impact in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This role involves providing both academic and personal care support. The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional who is committed to working with SEND students long-term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Assist with personal care for students, ensuring their health and well-being throughout the school day.
- Support pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and sensory impairments.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly within a resource base or similar setting.
- Experience providing personal care to students with complex needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with young children.
- A strong commitment to improving outcomes for students with SEND.
