Teaching Assistant – Autism Support

Location: Birmingham
Pay: £80 - £85 Per Day (depending on experience/qualifications)
Start Date: January 2025 or Sooner. 

The School and Role

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant ready to support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs?

This role is based in a specialized school for children and young people with ASC, including those with challenging behaviours and additional learning difficulties. You’ll work closely with experienced educators and behaviour specialists to create a structured, supportive environment tailored to each student’s individual needs.

Your responsibilities will include implementing behaviour management strategies, using assistive communication tools, and supporting students with daily routines. Some students may require sensory interventions or personalized learning approaches. Patience, adaptability, and the ability to build strong relationships are key to helping these children thrive.

What You’ll Need:
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young adults with ASC or similar needs.
  • Strong skills in managing challenging behaviours.
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A proactive, empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
