Winner Education are thrilled to be recruiting a Teaching Assistant for an Alternative Provision school based in South Birmingham. Applicants must be readily available due to the urgency of the position. The role is full time and run until the end of the academic year with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. This school caters for pupils with Autism and SEMH needs.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be actively involved in daily routines of classes, groups or individual learners
  • Deliver, monitor and record pupil educational programmes, both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Support the class teacher in tailoring lesson planning to deliver to the pupil
  • Prepare materials and resources for lessons
  • Assist in creating a stimulating learning environment for all learners
  • Provide a high standard of physical and emotional care
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Support the transition of learners into school environment

 

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

  • Be patient in dealing with children with learning difficulties, poor language skills and challenging behaviour patterns
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work co-operatively with all teaching staff and LSA’s
  • Liaise with medical staff to meet the needs of the pupils
  • Have previous experience working with KS4 and KS5 children
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
