Production Team Leader (Electrical)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30 – 12:30

Our client is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham. Due to their current projected growth, they are now looking to recruit for the position of Production Team Leader (Electrical).

The successful applicant will be based at their production facility in Birmingham and will help drive delivering improvements in the assembly area regarding quality, efficiency, and scalability.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will manage multi-disciplinary assembly and testing teams, working to deliver solutions to complex design and engineering problems.

You will be responsible for manging a diverse range of products from, small products assemblies to large scale electrical systems so electrical team lead experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Assembly panel wiring department, ensuring compliance with IPC620 standards.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, stores and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of components
  • Oversee daily and weekly production schedule, optimising output and efficiency
  • Liaising with Engineering on any technical queries and support assembly design requirements
  • Ensure deadlines are met while achieving quality standards.

Provide Team leader support by overseeing:

  • Scheduling
  • Task planning
  • Team Organisation
  • Development of efficient ways of working
  • Preparation of necessary supporting documentation.
  • Enhance the team's effectiveness, by fostering a positive and trusted relationship with both internal members of the team and the external customers and clients.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers

Skills and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (HNC is a plus!)
  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • IPC 620
  • Hands-on experience in panel building, reading electrical drawings, and functional testing
  • Strong problem-solving & leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational & decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and influence others
  • Eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
  • Flexibility to meet business needs, including shift work & overtime when required
