Housing Manager

Job Title: Housing ManagerSalary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annumBirmingham Role Overview:Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for an experienced Housing Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our housing properties. In this role, you will ensure that tenants receive high-quality housing services and support while leading a team of Housing Officers and Maintenance staff. You will be responsible for managing properties, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and maintaining excellent service delivery to meet tenant needs and organizational objectives.Key Responsibilities:• Oversee the management of residential properties, ensuring all tenancy agreements, move-ins, and move-outs comply with legal and contractual obligations.• Provide leadership to the Housing Officer(s) and Maintenance Team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of operations. Offer guidance, training, and support to help the team improve their skills and performance.• Manage tenancy sustainment efforts, offering proactive support to tenants to prevent breaches and resolve issues promptly.• Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to manage void properties, ensuring efficient turnaround and occupancy.• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments, and monitor statutory safety checks and property inspections.• Oversee and coordinate the timely completion of repairs and maintenance to ensure properties remain in excellent condition.• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with tenants, addressing complaints and concerns professionally while ensuring customer satisfaction.• Monitor and manage any Anti-Social Behaviour cases, taking appropriate action or escalating when necessary.• Liaise with Local Authorities and external agencies to ensure housing policies and tenant welfare requirements are met.• Maintain accurate records and ensure efficient administrative systems to support service delivery.Key Skills and Experience:• Strong experience in housing management, tenancy sustainment, and compliance.• Knowledge of building maintenance and property management.• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.• Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and overseeing housing operations.• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships with tenants, colleagues, and external agencies.• Ability to assess and resolve tenancy-related issues, ensuring effective risk management.• Proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and a commitment to high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.Additional Benefits:• Access to continuous support, training, and professional development opportunities.• Competitive salary with opportunities for career progression.• Referral bonus scheme.• Free training to develop your skills and qualifications.This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Housing Manager to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive environment.
