Your new companyHays are the exclusive recruiting partner for Birmingham City Council, and we are currently supporting them with the recruitment of Managing Attendance Coordinator on a full-time temporary basis, and it will be a minimum of 3 months.Your new roleThe service has recently gone through a restructure, and has identified the need for Managing Attendance Coordinators. You will undertake the role of the 'single point of contact' for schools in relation to school attendance as described in 'working together to improve school attendance' including attending termly meetings with allocated schools, keeping the child at the centre of any advice or intervention.To support schools, the local authority, statutory safeguarding partners and other partners to overcome barriers to good attendance, ensuring all children can access the full-time education to which they are entitled, with a strong focus on inclusion for vulnerable children.To work in collaboration with schools, settings and partners to promote an improvement in pupil attendance and a reduction in suspensions and permanent exclusionsThis is a full-time position and offers hybrid working, 2 days in the office per week. The office is based in Birmingham City Centre, walking distance to main train stations.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will have experience within a similar position and experience within schools, local authority experience would be beneficial, however not a requirement. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships, as you will be liaising with family's and schools on a daily basis. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and will also be flexible with the business needs.This role will be an ASAP start, which before starting you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks, upon registration please have your 2 most recent employment details available for reference checks.What you'll get in returnThis role is offering hybrid working and will be based in Birmingham City Centre 2 days per week. The team are going through a restructure, which may open permanent opportunities in the future.
