This is an exciting opportunity for a very experienced Reward Consultant to join our client at an important time as the organisation and the regulatory environment in which they operate undergoes ongoing transformational change.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the Total Reward and Benefits proposition, ensuring fairness, legal compliance, and support for talent attraction and retention.
  • Lead the implementation of the Total Reward Project and integrate annual pay reviews.
  • Support the Associates workstream and conduct pay benchmarking for Staff, Associates, and Council.
  • Ensure a holistic approach to Pay and Reward for all staff members.
  • Plan and deliver employee engagement and communications for new reward and benefits arrangements.
  • Ensure fair and timely staff consultation.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead the Total Reward Project to successful completion, embedding it into business as usual.
  • Manage the 2025 pay review and document future review processes.
  • Review and ensure the effectiveness and legal compliance of reward and benefits proposition.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to advise leadership on competitive rewards and benefits.
  • Support EDI ambitions by addressing pay gaps.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide technical advice on total reward implementation.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiations for benefit programs.
  • Write and present board papers and manage project implementation with the POD function.
  • Ensure colleagues are informed about rewards and benefits through effective communication.
  • Lead consultation and engagement with People Partners, Line Managers, and Senior Leadership.
  • Contribute to training and development for people managers.
  • Upskill the People & OD Function in compensation, reward, and benefits.
  • Complete a full handover to the People & OD Leadership Team.

Person Specification:

  • Extensive experience in leading rewards and benefits.
  • Technical expertise in compensation processes and benefits planning.
  • Experience in public sector procurement and implementing new pay, grading, and benefits arrangements.
  • Current knowledge of reward and benefits trends and practices.
  • Experience in change implementation and effective consultation.
  • MCIPD/FCIPD or equivalent in reward, compensation, and benefits.
  • Knowledge of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, including equality impact assessments and pay gaps.
  • Strategic thinking with operational delivery.
  • Strong relationship management, influencing, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex reward solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and complex information.
  • Self-sufficient with emotional resilience.
