Senior Programmer & I.T Support Specialist

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + Company Car or Allowance

Location: Birmingham

Kerry Collins Recruitment, part of the Jarell Group, are looking to recruit a Senior Programmer & I.T Support Specialist to join an established I.T. Support Services and Solutions business.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding and experience of programming, along with experience working within managed network environments. The opportunity also offers the great potential scope with a clear path of progression to Director level identified, along with offering a profit share opportunity too.

The role includes updating and maintaining current systems used within a group of companies, whilst also supporting an external client base too. To lead and manage all server and cloud based systems, building strong and valuable relationships with the confidence to influence at all levels. Establishing ways to improve efficiency and develop/streamline existing programmes. 

IT support will also be a key requirement from the successful candidate, and so an in depth understanding of managed a networks will also be required; supporting users with problems in hardware and software. Having frequent customer contact by phone, email, or site visits.

Daily Duties:

  • You will collaborate with a diverse range of teams throughout the business and also external customers alike, to improve day to day operations.
  • Be responsible for the development and maintenance of various programmes.
  • Create, maintain and perform code reviews 
  • Assist in scheduling and implementation time-scales
  • Manage and maintained network infrastructure, to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Ongoing remote support however occasional visits to sites may be required.
  • Management of Office 365 and Google Workspace and Azure solutions

We are looking for the ideal candidate to possess:

  • Previous 5 years experience within a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proactive troubleshooting to resolve queries efficiently
  • Driving Licence - some of this role will mean travelling to sites within the Group
  • Great communication skills
