TucsenPhotonics is looking for a technically minded science oriented support expert who can help customers use, test and integrate their products. Tucsen produce scientific grade cameras for use in academic research (microscopy, physics, spectroscopy, etc.) and also as components within scientific instruments (Screening, testing, analyzing machines).
The primary role of the Technical Support Specialist is to provide pre-and post-sales product and integration support relating to TucsenPhotonics camera products.
The position will work alongside an existing TucsenPhotonics global sales and support team to provide front line product support and assist integrators with software support.
The position will require you to learn camera technology and the software used to control the cameras including programming basic example applications.
The position is based in the UK office in central Birmingham. You are expected to be at the office unless working on a project or with customers which requires you to be off site. Occasionally you may be expected to work outside classical UK business hours to reach customers located in central Europe and West Coast United States.
The salary depends on exprience and qualifications - A fresh graduate will differ from an experienced employee or someone with higher academic experience (Masters/PhD)
Duties
- Understanding products, software and use cases.
- Track and manage all technical support requests
- Arranging support sessions with counterparts in the China offices
- Assist customers integrating our cameras using our SDK
- Create customer support material
- Performing product tests and investigations
- Support the existing field sales team
- Assist sales by attending demonstrations and trade shows
- Other duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Interest in Microscopy and Imaging technology
- Competent in C++
- Experience with Linux & Python strong positive
- Excellent customer relationships and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency to follow up and meet deadlines
- Ability to act with discretionary decision making
