This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in shaping the organisation's technology landscape and making a real difference to the lives of those it supports.About the RoleAs the Head of Development, you will oversee the technical and business health of all business-critical applications through effective Application Portfolio Management (APM). You will lead a team of developers and work closely with stakeholders to optimise, consolidate, and continuously improve the organisation's application estate. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficiencies using Azure data management and automation capabilities while maintaining robust security and governance practices.You'll also drive the delivery of automation, integration, and improvement initiatives while leading projects that enhance the effectiveness of the charity's data and reporting capabilities.Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the application portfolio, ensuring technical health and business value across the estate.
  • Lead the implementation, integration, and optimisation of systems, including Azure automations, identity management, and data processing workflows.
  • Act as the primary architect for Master Data and Business Intelligence strategies.
  • Champion continuous improvement roadmaps for applications to maximise business value.
  • Manage and negotiate application contracts and licences to optimise costs.
  • Work collaboratively with Infosec and Data Protection teams to maintain compliance and security standards.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of developers, fostering innovation and high performance.

What We're Looking ForTechnical Competencies:

  • Extensive expertise in Azure platform development (e.g., Azure Storage, SQL, Data Factory, Logic Apps, Function Apps).
  • Understanding of SQL or other coding languages for master data integration.
  • Experience in Application Portfolio Management and delivering integration solutions.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management systems and Integrations, APIs, Data Lakes, and Master Data Pipelines

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience leading developer teams and delivering impactful solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to translate business needs into technical strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and collaborative working.
  • Experience creating investment cases and demonstrating ROI through cost optimisation.
