Client: Government Sector
Salt Recruitment's Public Sector team is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Senior IAM Engineer / Architect to join a government client engaged in building a robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. This role is essential in fortifying our client's IAM framework, bringing expertise in Microsoft-centric solutions and a hands-on approach to a developing space.
Role Overview:
This role will sit at the intersection of senior management and technical execution. With all IAM solutions provided by an existing Managed Service Provider (MSP), this role requires someone who can drive internal strategy while directly contributing to engineering. Reporting to senior management, you will be the linchpin between the MSP and internal teams, ensuring that IAM solutions align with business needs and government standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical architect and engineer for IAM, working closely with both the MSP and internal teams to advance IAM strategies and execution.
- Design and implement Microsoft-based IAM solutions, with a primary focus on Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
- Develop and execute processes for identity lifecycle management, access provisioning, and policy management.
- Lead scripting and automation efforts, primarily using PowerShell, to streamline IAM workflows and improve efficiency.
- Engage in hands-on engineering within a developing IAM environment, bringing maturity to an immature space through best practices and technical excellence.
Ideal Candidate:
- IAM Engineering Background: Proven experience in IAM engineering, with a strong understanding of the IAM lifecycle and its application within the public sector.
- Microsoft and Azure AD Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft solutions, including Azure AD, with experience in an enterprise-level environment.
- PowerShell & Scripting Skills: Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting and automation within an IAM context.
- Hands-On and Strategic: Ability to work both strategically and operationally, offering a 'roll-up-your-sleeves' approach to tackling challenges in an evolving space.
- Government/Regulated Sector Experience: Familiarity with the unique requirements of the public sector is beneficial, ensuring compliance and alignment with government standards.
Additional Details:
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility to work from home the rest of the week. While based primarily in Birmingham, candidates from the London area may be considered.
