IT System Administrator - BirminghamSalary - £37,000 - £40,0005 days per week onsite IT System Administrator required for a leading customer based in Birmingham. My customer is currently seeking an IT System Administrator to come on board to be responsible for overseeing, and enhancing the functionality of their software, hardware, and networks.Possessing resourcefulness is crucial in this position, as you'll need to swiftly identify and address issues. Additionally, effective communication with diverse interdisciplinary teams and users requires patience. Your objective is to guarantee the seamless and efficient operation of the technology infrastructure. Moreover, you will play a role in a Cloud transformation project, making familiarity with Cloud vendors and related tools advantageous.Key skills and responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or comparable positions
  • Previous 1st and 2nd line support experience
  • Cloud administration, (Azure)
  • Proficiency in databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management
  • Understanding of system security, including intrusion detection systems, and proficiency in data backup and recovery
  • Deploy and set up software and hardware configurations.
  • Oversee network servers and technology tool management.
  • Handle cloud landing zones, user administration, and cloud compute services.
  • Establish accounts and configure workstations.
  • Monitor system performance and perform maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure security through the implementation of access controls, backups, and firewalls.
  • Conduct system upgrades with the integration of new releases and models.
  • Acquire expertise to train staff on emerging technologies.
  • Establish an internal wiki containing technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
