Job Title: IT Technician
Location: Harborne
Pay rate: £80 - £100 per day
Tradewind Recruitment is proud to partner with a reputable secondary school in Harborne, supporting their search for a skilled and dedicated IT Technician. This is a full-time position, starting immediately, for the remainder of the year - providing an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for technology and education.
Responsibilities: As an IT Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school's digital infrastructure. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Maintaining the school's network
- Installing new software and upgrading existing applications
- Providing technical support for teachers and pupils
- Running diagnostics
- Maintaining and developing the school's website and intranet
- Managing hardware peripherals (e.g., scanners, printers, external drives)
- Purchasing IT equipment
- Ensuring internet systems are safe and offer full child protection
- Training teachers and students
- Liaising with suppliers on maintenance or licensing deals
Skills and Experience Required: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- Knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware, and software commonly used in schools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to explain problems and solutions clearly to non-technical users
- Prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Patient and methodical approach
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Awareness of health and safety protocols
