Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Specialist)

My client is an established and growing supplier of bespoke safety critical products to multiple high-reliability sectors. Due to the increasing demand for one of their flagship products, the business has embarked upon a new period of growth meaning new and exciting opportunities are being recruited.

This innovative manufacturing business is now looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and enhance the CNC function.

As a Manufacturing Engineer specialising in CNC operations, you will play a pivotal role in scaling production capabilities. You will work closely with the production planner to ensure bespoke customer demands are met within satisfactory timeframes. This position requires a hands-on approach, a deep understanding of CNC machining, and the ability to lead and develop a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance the CNC function within the business.
  • Work in synergy with the production planner to meet bespoke customer demands on time.
  • Grow, train, and manage the CNC team, including operators and programmers.
  • Develop, test, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for scaled production.
  • Implement automation solutions to streamline production processes.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in small component manufacturing for high-reliability sectors.
  • Proficiency in CNC Turning to 0.005 tolrence.
  • Hands-on experience with 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Degree qualified.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Experience with implementing automation in manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
