Junior Facilities and Mechanical Fitter

Based in Birmingham – 3 Month temporary contract

Monday to Fridays Day Shift

£18 per hour plus holiday pay  

This world-renowned manufacturing company is currently going through a growth period and following this success a new opportunity is available. The business is now looking for a Facilities and Mechanical Fitter to ensure the upkeep of the building and the assembly and refurbishment of specific mechanical components. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Facilities and Mechanical Fitter will involve the following.

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on facility systems, lighting, Alarms systems including boilers, pumps, and HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct fitting and installation work on plant equipment and infrastructure.
  • Support general facilities upkeep, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain site utilities, including water, compressed air, and heating systems.

The Facilities and Mechanical Fitter must possess the following skills and experience.

  • A recognised Mechanical Qualification is essential.
  • Familiarity with boiler operation and Facilities maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are a must.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

The benefits of this contract are the following.

  • Monday to Friday Day shifts
  • 40 hours per week available
