Based in Birmingham – 3 month Contract
Day Shifts (Monday to Friday)

Second largest manufacturer in the UK holding a third of the market has a huge turnover nationally in excess of £300 million with 17 sites across the UK, following the success of previous contracts a new opportunity is available. The business is now looking for a Mechanical Fitter to support the internal team and to ensure downtime is to a minimum whilst maintaining standards of a variety of equipment. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter will involve the following.
- Install, assemble, and align mechanical components for production machinery, including overhead cranes, robotics, mixers, curing machinery, and conveyors.
- Carry out mechanical upgrades, modifications, and installations of new equipment.
- Perform inspections and ensure all installed components meet operational and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support the commissioning and integration of new systems.
- Conduct light welding and fabrication tasks as required for equipment assembly.
- Mechanical Equipment will be involving conveyors, hoppers, grinders, extruders, kilns and pumps.
The Mechanical fitter must possess the following skills and experience.
- Previous mechanical experience within an industrial site
- Mechanical engineering qualification
- Apprenticeship is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical installations, with welding skills being advantageous.
The benefits of this Maintenance Engineer contract is the following.
- 3-month contract
- Day Shifts Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week available
- Outside IR35
