Alecto Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Heavy Plant Fitter based in the Birmingham area

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join their team. As a Heavy Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of heavy plant machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and dump trucks.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • NVQ level 3 in Heavy Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with different stakeholder
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Experience working on machinery from a range of manufacturers, including Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, JCB, and Liebherr, among others.
  • Experience working on a variety of heavy plant vehicles, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment, is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on mobile heavy plant machinery.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy plant equipment.
  • Scheduled Servicing: Follow maintenance schedules and carry out routine servicing of mobile heavy plant machinery.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards while working on mobile heavy plant machinery.
  • Parts and Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and servicing performed on equipment
