We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a talented Regional Development Underwriter to join a leading insurer and focus on what really matters: building and nurturing strong, lasting relationships with Mid-Market brokers.

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving business growth, managing complex commercial risks, and delivering exceptional service that brokers can rely on. If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact and take ownership of your portfolio, this is your chance!

This role will be a combination of working from home and being out on the road visiting clients.

What will you be doing?

  • Building strong, lasting relationships with Mid-Market brokers through regular on-site visits, performance reviews, and networking events.
  • Underwriting and managing complex commercial risks, ensuring profitable outcomes aligned with the company’s underwriting strategy.
  • Driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing a pipeline of prospects, and promoting the insurer's products and services.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve renewal retention and rate improvement targets.
  • Staying ahead of market trends, legislation, and best practices to provide expert guidance to brokers.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in underwriting commercial insurance, with a strong understanding of Mid-Market and complex risks.
  • Relationship management skills with the ability to influence and drive positive outcomes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
