Merrifield Consultants are working with an international charity based in Birmingham to find a Senior Receivables Officer to lead the receivables team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of income and maintaining robust financial controls.   • Leading and managing the receivables team, ensuring smooth operations across multiple entities
  • Producing timely and accurate bank reconciliations, income uploads, and rental invoicing
  • Developing and optimising financial processes, including automated reporting using UNIT 4 & Excelerator
  • Providing regular financial reports to senior stakeholders to support decision-making
  • Assisting with statutory audits and responding to audit queries
  • Liaising with fundraising teams to ensure income is correctly captured and allocated
  • Delivering training for new finance staff and colleagues across departments on income
  • platforms

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Excellent knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., UNIT 4, Excelerator)
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and engage with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement
  • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector (desirable but not essential)
