We visited the office recently, and because of the company’s growth, it was difficult to find someone who hadn’t recently had, or was in the process of working towards, a promotion!The role is based within the New Business department, dealing with a wide variety of fascinating risks including, but not limited to Professional Management Risks, Social Welfare, Care, Not For Profit and Charity policies. Underwriters within this team tell us that the cases are extremely interesting, and no day is the same.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, underwriting new business cases, collaborating with the Claims team, as well as developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the Technical department and the wider business. Being a growing business that very much listens to, and implements employees’ great ideas and suggestions, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in some really interesting ad hoc projects and make a real difference. It is not essential that you have previous experience within the above product lines as full training will be provided. However, you must have some previous insurance experience, together with well-honed interpersonal skills and the ability to forge strong relationships over the telephone."I really want to stress that this is NOT a 'dead-end’ underwriting role", says the Branch Manager. "We are extremely passionate about developing our staff, and this role has the genuine potential to progress into a number of different areas, such as Senior Underwriting, General Management, Technical, Compliance, and more."
