Pensions Projects Team Manager

We are looking for an experienced team leader or project team leader to join our administration projects team working on a variety of pensions administration projects.

Pensions administration projects are a core part of the pensions industry with Trustee driven objectives and legislative changes to be considered. Isio’s administration projects team has been growing quickly to support new business, the Trustee’s journey planning and to capture legislative change in a process and data driven environment. As Pensions Projects Team Manager this role will support a team of project analysts and administrators collaborating with different areas of the business.

This role can be based in our Manchester, Birmingham, Reading, Leeds or Croydon office with a hybrid workstyle

Role and Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, prioritise and manage the day-to-day delivery of a portfolio of Pension projects to meet the objectives of the portfolio and the project objectives
  • Supports the wider business to scope and plan for future project needs and deliverables.
  • Adopts changes resulting from Regulation, Standards and Industry Guidance evolution
  • Supports the head of projects to manage each project end to end.
  • Act as a point of accountability for the successful delivery of projects within the portfolio and act as a point of escalation for the team delivering the projects
  • Support the day to day activities of the team with technical oversight for complex pension requirements.
  • Manage a project delivery team including allocating projects and tasks, reviewing performance, providing internal communication, coaching identify training needs and provide line management support
  • Attendance at client and/or trustee meetings
  • Ensure the team have appropriate support mechanisms
  • Act as a coach and mentor
  • Support the development and implementation of project delivery processes development and support continuous improvement
  • Ensure all projects adhere to quality assurance processes and meet quality assurance requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a view project delivery over the portfolio
  • Provide problem solving solutions and remove barriers or blockers to successful delivery
  • Identify and manage project delivery risks

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a leadership or management role in the pension industry and knowledge of both defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes
  • Previous experience in managing portfolios of projects or in managing a team of DB pension administrators
  • Excellent knowledge of Pension and actuarial calculation and/or data projects
  • Strong technical pensions and legislative knowledge and understanding.
