Job Role: Catering/Kitchen Assistant

Location: Multiple Sites across BirminghamDBS Check: Enhanced DBS check/certificate required (Update service suffices)

Aims of Job/Job Purpose

The role of Catering Assistant involves general catering duties, providing a professional, friendly, and efficient service.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare food for sale at the assigned location (this role could be across multiple sites in Birmingham (within a small radius).
  2. Ensure a safe and proficient method of work.
  3. Monitor and report all shortages in stock levels as per division procedures.
  4. Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety of all catering areas including kitchens, food stores, refrigerators, freezers, washing up areas, and cleaning store.
  5. Work in a clean, tidy, and organised environment, following cleaning rotas and procedures set out by manufacturers.
  6. Implement and adhere to appropriate Health and Safety and hygiene procedures.
  7. Accurately carry out till operation and cash handling procedures.
  8. Be flexible to cover any areas that may benefit the team and customers.
  9. Build relationships and support the needs of the business in this public-facing role.
  10. Provide first-class customer service.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with internal and external quality standards and contribute to the strategic aims.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Support the safeguarding and promotion of others welfare.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Data Protection Legislation.
  • Participate in the Appraisal scheme and undertake any required training.
  • Support and actively participate in the implementation of the clients Equal Opportunity policies.
