We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various fitting tasks, including the ability to read and interpret schematics, fabricate components, and work with power tools. This role requires a hands-on approach to building and assembling structures, with an emphasis on quality and precision.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to determine project requirements.
- Fabricate and assemble components using various materials such as metal, wood, and plastic.
- Operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and joining materials.
- Perform welding tasks as needed to ensure structural integrity.
- Execute electrical installations and repairs as required by project specifications.
- Conduct painting and plastering tasks to finish surfaces according to standards.
- Carry out masonry work when necessary for structural support or aesthetic purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings.
- Proficient in welding techniques and the use of power tools.
- Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous.
- Experience in painting, plastering, or masonry is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
