Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of planning applications, reports, and other necessary documents.
- Support senior planners in conducting site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning policy reviews.
- Collaborate with local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth progression of projects.
- Stay up-to-date with planning policy changes and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Undertake research and analysis of planning data to support decision-making processes.
- Contribute to the delivery of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Some experience in a planning environment, either through placements, internships, or previous roles.
- A sound understanding of the planning process and development control.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning software (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
- A proactive and adaptable attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Working towards a professional qualification such as MRTPI (Chartered Town Planner).
- Experience in the private or public sector, working on a range of planning applications.
- Knowledge of local and national planning policies and regulations.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
