We are currently working with a well-established consultancy that is looking to expand their planning team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of planning applications, reports, and other necessary documents.
  • Support senior planners in conducting site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning policy reviews.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth progression of projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with planning policy changes and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Undertake research and analysis of planning data to support decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Some experience in a planning environment, either through placements, internships, or previous roles.
  • A sound understanding of the planning process and development control.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to produce clear, concise reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning software (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Working towards a professional qualification such as MRTPI (Chartered Town Planner).
  • Experience in the private or public sector, working on a range of planning applications.
  • Knowledge of local and national planning policies and regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
