Associate Town Planner - Leading Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy

Location: West Midlands

Are you an experienced Associate Town Planner looking for the next step in your career? We are looking for passionate Town Planners to support the growth of our successful Birmingham team, working on a variety of significant infrastructure projects and offering opportunities for international involvement.

You'll join a team that works at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure and development, with a focus on areas like Net Zero, Biodiversity Net Gain, and digital transformation. Our clients range from major water companies and transport networks to local authorities and energy providers, allowing you to contribute to a diverse range of projects across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading the preparation and management of planning applications, including TCPA, Development Consent Orders, and Transport Works Act Orders.
  • Developing and implementing planning strategies to deliver major projects.
  • Providing high-quality advice, reports, and presentations to clients, backed by robust analysis.
  • Collaborating with internal and external technical specialists to deliver multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town and Country Planning (RTPI accredited), with Chartered membership of the RTPI.
  • Strong experience in planning within consultancy, local authority, or similar environments.
  • A deep understanding of planning law and procedures, with proven commercial acumen.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and working with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex issues to non-specialists.
