The Company:

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an independent Planning Consultancy whose close-knit team is seeking a Town Planner to join the team in their Birmingham office.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will:

  • Handle a variety of projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and associated reports.
  • Provide expert planning advice to clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Stay informed about planning policies and regulations to ensure compliance.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has experience in a town planning role, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • Holds a relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accreditation or working towards it is preferred).
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing projects independently.
  • Has a passion for delivering high-quality planning solutions and working collaboratively with clients.
