Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a close-knit Planning Consultancy in Birmingham who are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Planner to join their dynamic planning team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for planning and a desire to grow within a professional environment, while working on an exciting pipeline of work across industrial, residential, education, retail, leisure and more!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications.
  • Support senior planning staff in the coordination and management of various planning projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform planning strategies and proposals.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication throughout the planning process.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, planning applications, and other relevant documents.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of planning policy and procedures is desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in a planning-related role, public or private sector.
