Debt Recovery Solicitor/Legal Executive - Birmingham

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000

Are you an experienced legal professional with a strong background in debt recovery, ready to lead and inspire a team? Join our highly regarded law firm in Birmingham and take on a pivotal role as a Debt Recovery Manager Solicitor or Legal Executive.

About the Role:

As a key part of our Debt Recovery team, you will:

  • Lead and Manage: Oversee and support a team of debt recovery specialists, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  • Handle Complex Cases: Manage the debt recovery process from start to finish, including solicitor’s letters, claim forms, liaising with enforcement officers, and working on insolvency matters such as Statutory Demands.
  • Client Interaction: Provide tailored advice to clients, maintaining excellent communication through telephone and written updates.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with internal departments, including cashiers and fee earners, on contested and high-value cases.
  • Business Development: Support the growth of the department by building client relationships and identifying new opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive status with a solid background in debt recovery or commercial litigation.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a team in a legal setting.
  • Expertise in debt recovery claims, credit management, and court litigation processes.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, including meeting deadlines and managing expectations.
  • Proficiency in IT systems with self-supporting typing skills.
  • A calm and composed approach under pressure.
