Our client, a distinguished law firm in Birmingham acknowledged by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK, is in search of a committed Family Solicitor to become part of their team. They cater to both corporate entities and private individuals across more than 25 areas of law. They have held the Investors in People Gold Standard accreditation for over a decade and a half and are consistently commended at a national level for their work.

What you'll do:

In the role of a Family Solicitor, you will be an essential member within the Child Care Department. Your primary responsibility will be:

  • Direct reporting to Department Director
  • Accountability for all aspects of Family and Child Care work including provision of technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Management and supervision of Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to handle appropriate caseload types and complexities
  • Assistance with delivery of suitable training and development within the department
  • Handling of a variety of public and private Family / children cases

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Family Solicitor position should demonstrate strong management skills along with previous supervisory experience. Excellent networking and communication skills are essential for this role as you will be expected to successfully market the company and generate new business.

  • Must possess a clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying
  • Registration with the Law Society and Children Panel Membership is desirable
  • Strong management skills are required
  • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators is necessary
  • Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business are essential
  • Working knowledge of publicly funded Family / Child Care work is required
