Job Opportunity: Family Law Solicitor (Public Law Focus)

A leading city centre law firm is looking for experienced Family Law Solicitors (Public Law) to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a varied caseload, with opportunities for hybrid working and career growth.

Role Overview:

  • Location: City Centre (conveniently located across from the court)
  • Caseload: 20-30 cases, predominantly public law
    • Work includes local authority fixed-fee cases, cases where social services have intervened, PLO work, special guardianship, and adoption cases.
  • Experience Required: Ideally 5 years PQE (flexibility either side)
  • Responsibilities: You will work closely with a legal assistant who handles all non-fee-earning tasks. Administrative support is shared across solicitors.
  • No BD/Management Required: Your focus will be on the cases. You'll manage your legal assistant but won't be required to manage juniors or do business development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Attributes: Active on LinkedIn and professional networks, ideally with some connections in the family law space (court staff, guardians, etc.). Networking skills are essential for maintaining a strong client base.
  • Background: Open to various backgrounds, though prior experience in public family law is preferred. Candidates with experience in special guardianship, leave to adopt, or local authority work are encouraged to apply.

  • Salary: Competitive, with offers starting at £50k+ depending on experience
