Our client, a progressive and expanding law firm based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Private Client to lead their growing Private Client Department. About the Role

As the Head of the Private Client Department, you will have the opportunity to shape and drive the strategic direction of the department while continuing to deliver outstanding legal services. Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and managing the Private Client team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Supervising and mentoring solicitors and support staff to encourage professional growth and development.
  • Overseeing a diverse and high-value caseload, including wills, trusts, estate planning, and probate.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to grow the department, attract new clients, and enhance service offerings.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external partners.
  • Advising on complex private client matters, including tax-efficient estate planning and high-net-worth client needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with the senior management team to align departmental objectives with the firm's strategic goals.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned private client solicitor with leadership experience and a proven track record of delivering results in a similar role. Key skills and attributes include:

  • Experience: At least 7+ years of post-qualification experience in private client work, with a deep understanding of wills, trusts, LPAs, and probate administration.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team, with strong supervisory and mentoring skills.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in handling complex private client matters, including tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
