Permanent Governance Lawyer

Full-time, hybrid working

We’re currently seeking a permanent Governance Lawyer for a midlands-based Local Authority on a permanent, hybrid working basis.

In this role you will support and assist the senior legal team by advising client departments in governance and other corporate or constitutional matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interests of the Council.

The role offers a great opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders including elected members, officers and commissioners.

In order to be successful in your application you’ll need:

  • To be a qualified solicitor/barrister with current practising certificate or FCILEX status
  • Experience or knowledge of governance procedures within a Local Authority
  • Excellent time management skills and the capability to take on various workstreams
