- Manage a full caseload of prison law matters, including parole hearings, appeals, and sentencing issues.
- Provide expert legal advice and representation to prisoners, ensuring the highest standard of client care.
- Work closely with other team members to develop strategies for complex cases and ensure compliance with relevant legal regulations.
- Supervise junior staff and support their professional development.
- Contribute to the expansion of the prison law department, including business development, marketing, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients, families, and external agencies.
- Attend prison visits, tribunals, and hearings as required.
- A minimum of 1 year PQE in Prison Law, with significant experience handling complex and high-profile cases.
- Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently and effectively.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is desirable.
- A proactive approach to business development, with an interest in expanding the department.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on client care and empathy.
