Title: Regulatory Defence Lawyer 2-5PQE

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £60-75,000 DOE.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regulatory Defence Lawyer to join our client's rapidly expanding Regulatory Department based in Birmingham. This diverse department offers expert advice to organisations and individuals facing various regulatory prosecutions and sanctions.

As a Regulatory Defence Lawyer, you will primarily support our client's experienced Partners in handling a diverse caseload that focuses on health and safety and transport regulatory matters. Your responsibilities will include:

  • providing advice to clients,
  • conducting internal investigations,
  • representing clients during external investigations,
  • and handling prosecutions related to health and safety, food safety, and fire safety.

In addition to health and safety, you will also be involved in transport regulatory matters, such as:

  • advising clients on operator licencing regimes,
  • representing operators in interviews and investigations,
  • and attending hearings before Traffic Commissioners.

To excel in this role, you should be a qualified solicitor with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience. Advocacy skills and experience in transport regulatory or health and safety matters would be advantageous, but not essential. As a member of our client's team, you must demonstrate excellent organisational, time management, and collaborative skills.
