Residential Conveyancing Solicitor (3+ Years PQE)

Birmingham

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE to join our clients dynamic team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career, managing your own caseload of residential property transactions while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a Caseload: Take full responsibility for a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity from instruction to completion.
  • Client Communication: Provide clients with clear, accurate, and timely advice and updates throughout the transaction process. Maintain excellent relationships with clients and third parties.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements at all times. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest conveyancing law and best practices.
  • Financial Management: Manage client billing and disbursements in accordance with firm policies. Work towards meeting financial targets and ensuring appropriate levels of client payments.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other fee earners, support staff, and the wider team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services. Assist in supervising and mentoring junior staff when required.
  • File Management: Ensure that all client files are properly managed, compliant with internal procedures, and meet the firm's quality standards.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development activities to build new client relationships and maintain existing ones. Support the team in identifying opportunities for cross-selling services to clients.
  • Technology Use: Use case management systems and other legal technologies effectively to manage your caseload and streamline processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor (3+ years PQE) with strong experience in residential conveyancing.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proven knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing processes, including dealing with all stages of the property transaction.
  • Client-Focused: Excellent client-facing skills with a proactive approach to providing advice and managing expectations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Commercial Awareness: Understanding of the business side of legal work, with a focus on achieving financial and client service targets.
  • IT Proficiency: Experience using case management systems and the ability to adapt to new technologies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in managing high-value or complex residential property transactions.
  • Prior involvement in business development or marketing activities.
  • Interest in mentoring or supporting junior staff.
