My client, a prominent Legal 200 firm in Birmingham, is seeking a Court of Protection Caseworker to join its Private Client team in its newly renovated office. This role is ideal for an empathetic and highly organised individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals with their financial affairs.

The Role

  • Creating and monitoring household and personal budgets tailored to client needs
  • Managing payments and maintaining balanced accounts
  • Liaising with external professionals, including care providers, therapists and contractors, to ensure client needs are met
  • Addressing emergencies promptly and professionally, always prioritising the client’s welfare
  • Preparing financial summaries and advising deputies on budgets, expenditure requests and changes in circumstances
  • Supporting clients in achieving financial stability and autonomy through effective planning and management

You

  • Direct experience in Court of Protection matters is not mandatory but beneficial, but a background in roles such as housing officer, charity treasurer or bank cashier would be highly advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial management and forecasting
  • Strong organisational skills, particularly in coordinating household operations and managing property tasks
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a sensitive approach to client interactions
  • A capacity to handle delicate situations with professionalism and care
  • A clean driving license and access to a vehicle for business travel are essential
