My client, a nationally recognised law firm specialising in Legal Aid, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Legal Assistant to join its dynamic Family Law team. The firm offers excellent benefits and a supportive working environment. You will be focussing on supporting vulnerable clients with sensitive legal matters, including the preparation and management of Legal Aid cases related to Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and other protective remedies.

You will assist solicitors in the day-to-day management of cases, including drafting documents, liaising with clients, courts and third parties, and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements. This role requires strong organisational skills, a compassionate approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal support to clients in challenging circumstances. 

The Role:

  • Supporting solicitors with Legal Aid casework, including applications for Non-Molestation Orders and related protective measures
  • Preparing court bundles, drafting statements and completing Legal Aid applications and associated documentation
  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients, offering empathetic and professional communication
  • Managing diaries and court deadlines, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulatory standards
  • Liaising with courts, barristers and external agencies to facilitate smooth case progression
  • Maintaining accurate records and case management systems

You:

  • Previous experience in Family Law or a similar legal support role is desirable
  • Knowledge of Legal Aid processes and procedures, particularly in the context of family law
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A compassionate and client-focused approach to sensitive legal matters
