A rapidly growing Commercial law firm based in Birmingham City Centre is seeking an experienced Paralegal, paying up to £24,500 plus benefits. This is a newly created and exciting role due to the rapidly growing team.

The Paralegal will be supporting the Real Estate Team, in particular on case involving Real Estate Development work, Residential conveyancing and Plot Sales. Previous Lease Extension work would also be advantageous in this role.

Duties will include the following:

  • Managing multiple workflow trackers, calendar management (pertaining to completion/
  • AP1, Cancellation and SDLT submission deadlines).
  • Assisting with the day-to-day supervision of the paralegals and trainees within
  • the team, ensuring they are delivering a quality service and meeting client expectations.
  • Dealing with client enquiries
  • Preparing and approving transfer deeds and leases and dealing with their
  • execution and completion.
  • Reviewing replies to pre-completion requisitions
  • Submitting, reviewing, and interpreting priority searches
  • Preparing and submitting SDLT returns and arranging payment within the
  • statutory timescales.
  • Preparing AP1 applications to minimise Requisitions and to deal with any Land
  • Registry Requisitions that may arise.
  • Arranging for files to be closed down once all completions pertaining to that
  • matter have been completed.
  • Keeping tidy and accurate files, records, and trackers both in hard copy and
  • electronically and ensure LEXCEL compliance.

The firm are ideally looking for an experienced candidate with over two years experience in paralegal work. You will have some experience in a paralegal role that includes property contracts following exchange and through to completion and registration, as well as dealing with matters in volume. Experience in development work, residential conveyancing and plot sales would be most suitable.
