Your new company I am currently working exclusively with an ambitious and forward-thinking SME-sized manufacturing business, based in South Birmingham. They are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join the team. This is a new role designed to transform and grow the procurement function.
Your new role The Procurement Manager will lead the development and implementation of the procurement strategies across the business. One of the key early focus areas in the role will include reviewing purchasing policies and procedures, creating a quality and effective procurement service, and driving direct and indirect cost management. The Procurement Manager will build collaborative and cost-effective supplier relationships, introduce supplier-balanced scorecards, and facilitate supplier performance reviews and audits. Additional key responsibilities will include strategic sourcing, tender management, stock optimisation and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will be a proven Procurement Manager with experience gained within a small or medium-sized manufacturing organisation. You will have expertise in managing all procurement activities across the business and in strategic supplier management. It is essential that you have strong experience in delivery of the procurement strategy and managing procurement budgets. Additionally, you will have previous success in introducing new procedures or initiatives designed to drive down costs and to maximise operational effectiveness. Ideally, you will be CIPS qualified (or studying towards).
What you'll get in return You will receive a salary of £50,000 to £55,000 plus bonus, PMI and benefits. The organisation is committed to employee development, engagement and well-being.
