Job Title: Carrier Manager
Salary: £40-45k p.a
Location: Hams Hall, Coleshill
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30-17.00
As a Carrier Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with our parcel carrier partners, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods. You will lead negotiations, monitor carrier performance, and develop strategies to improve transportation efficiency. Reporting to the Head of Transport, the ideal candidate will have a excellent understanding of logistics and parcel carrier networks.
Your Role:
- Monitor parcel carrier performance, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and adherence to service agreements and maintaining transport margins.
- Ensure compliance with parcel carrier regulations and safety standards.
- Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures.
- Negotiate with new carriers and lead RFQ’s.
- Identify and implement strategies for optimising transportation costs and improving service quality.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of shipping activities.
- Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, producing daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports.
- Resolve any escalated carrier-related issues or disputes that arise during transit.
Your Profile:
- Strong knowledge of parcel carrier networks, logistics and transportation
- Experience in leading RFQ’s with potential new clients
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
