GXO are currently looking for a SeniorAssistant Finance Manager to join us on our WH Smiths contract, where you will be responsible for producing timely and accurate weekly and period reporting, with input into the budgeting and forecasting exercise across both our warehouse and transport operations. You’ll be able to work from either the Birmingham or East Midlands Gateway sites, there will also be the potential for 2 days per week working from home.

This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis, the hours of work are 37.5 Monday to Friday, between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00, to suit your current commitments.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Production of both financial and operational management reporting, to include P&L statements and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all accruals and prepayments are justified and are in line with the accounting standards
  • Preparation of data to be presented to the business and customer, also assisting with analysis for future business proposals
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and develop a deeper understanding of the transport and warehouse operations
  • Use initiative and judgement to support the leadership team in delivering operational excellence, challenging the status quo and delivering maximum benefit to the business

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience in a similar management accounting role
  • CIMA / ACCA studier or AAT qualified or equivalent
  • Experience in building strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the principles of open book accounting would be beneficial
